My affinity towards Sikhisim also grew because my Granny was a true believer in Sikhi [Constant learning].

Here is a lesson from Evening prayer from Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਨ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਧ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਮ ਨੀਚ ਕਰੰਮਾ ॥ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸਰਮਾ|| Rehras Sahib

Tap- penance

Sanjam – Forbearance

These words mean:

Incense #AtoZChallenge

“Madam take these agarbattis as a sample. I am sure you will come back asking for more.” said the shopkeeper while selling me an Incense stick holder.

There is something very rewarding and pleasing about these sticks. I light three everyday. One at the Mandir, one in the living room and one in a little stand outside our  main gate.

I have  learnt a lot from them lately:

  • Patience
  • Spreading the joy
  • Fulfilled life, and
  • Mortal body that shall turn to ash.

Count your blessings before your time is up and thank the Almighty for the gifts you receive everyday.

Ganga in an Auto #AtoZBlogging

Lady Ganga was sitting all happy and proud in the Kamandal of Brahmaji. Brahmaji gave a very tough method of allowing Lady Ganga on Earth. Bhagirathiji prayed to Lord Shiva who then tied Ganga in his hair locks and gradually released for mankind’s salvation.

Today we went to a temple nearby, the kind and learned auto uncle shared some mythological stories with us. A few lines stayed with me:

Everyone takes Lors Ram’s name, no  one talks about Dashrath.

Without him, Ram would not have been possible.

Praised be those who take his name and may they get the heavens.

They earned quiet a bit, but still every month end they struggled to  meet the ends. This  month she got a small bonus and he got an incentive as well. Their happiness was at the peak because they could see the prospect of buying their first Air Conditioner.

They went to the nearest  shop and naively asked simple questions. It was a big purchase and they wanted to be sure of doing it all right.

After 4 years of marriage,  it is lovely to have firsts like these. They instill your faith.

The days were more bearable and nights, more cozy.

Men-And-Women-Double-Equal-Sign-Gender-Equality

“Oh wow good to see you today. Welcome to Pune office.”

“Hey this is great,  will get to see you at the toastmasters session.”

“Hi, seeing you after a long time. Your face has changed.”, he said staring at her chest. “So you have kids?” “No.” She said. “Ohh running after your careers. Good, but theings must happen at their right time.” he said and she slipped away after that statement.

The happiness of being at work = Definitely asked for.

A reminder of a lost pregnancy = Definitely not asked for.

Are men asked the same question about  having children?

Negative.

She happily put on a pair of shorts and a red t-shirt while Air conditioner shopping. While they were fiddling between brands and specifications, someone tapped on her shoulder.

“Please don’t feel bad about what I am going to say to you.” she thought, “Dang! its the shorts.” “I was like you 9 months before but after I started taking herbalife I lost 25kg. You should try it.”

She smiled meekly and the  lady gave her a pamphlet. She was too stunned to say anything.

She had been walking and eating healthy, she didn’t want to hear those words.

They hurt.
